So there was no modem in the mail yesterday. Therefore, my internets is still wonky. I am surprised it is working this morning. Anyway, here's what I wrote for Thursday:
Mum left this morning, so I am on my own now. She’s gone for 5 days to Newfoundland. I wish I could be there with her, because I’ve never been to Newfoundland, but she’s going with Steve….Ick.
Anyway, Had classes backwards again today, so Religion was first. Mrs. Mac was in a good mood and took pictures of our whole class together outside the portable…While O Canada was playing! Bad Mrs. Mac! Kaitlyn missed the picture taking and her response was “Good!” I used to be that way. I used to hate getting my picture taken. Then I realised it was all for show, and I started regretting that I hadn’t got a picture of myself at certain times. Like when we went to Belgium. I spent far too much time being annoying and not enough time experiencing the country.
Oh, so Mrs. Mac told us that we could either do review or go and watch Mrs. Vio’s play because they didn’t have anyone to watch it. Naturally, everyone voted for seeing the play. They were doing The Important of Being Earnest, which is one of my favourite plays! It was funny because they had 2 casts, so once an actor couldn’t remember a line, they would switch with the other actor. Thomas was in it as Earnest. Also, Billy played Algernon and I was surprised that he hardly messed up! He was really good, actually. So yeah, it was funny! (But those were such long lines to memorize!!!)
Next was English, which was a bore. As usual. Mr. Finner made it a “study period” where we could ask him any questions we had…Only no one had any. Also, Mr. Finner left the room repeatedly for unspecified amounts of time. Anyway, I did work out of the grammar packet just for something to do. I keep forgetting to bring in a book.
At lunch Tanicia, Kaitlyn, Arielle, Alisha, and I went to Shopper’s and amused ourselves for a while. Then we slowly went back to school, baking in the sun in the process.
Philosophy was good, not as many boring lectures today. Then Mr. Evans asked us what we wanted to do on Monday to celebrate the end of class and Sarah suggested that we could all bring in some food and then Billy and I yelled “POTLUCK!!!!” at the same time. I turned around and we gave each other a knowing look. It was funny. Billy has certainly changed over the year….As have I. I wonder if it could be because of Philosophy. Anyway, I remember complaining about him in Math, how annoying and loud he was. He still is loud, but less annoying, funnier, and more intellectual. So yeah, then we had a short debate about uniforms before the bell rang. Oh, and I think I’ll bake some cupcakes or something for the class for Monday.
In Art we started the written part of our culminating task. We basically had to fill a piece of paper with information on an artist. I chose Frank Stella, for no particular reason. I just liked his name. Anyway, Mrs. Girard wanted to have us finish today, but she’s crazy so I think enough people complained that we have tomorrow to work on it too. I’m done, just need to add a few finishing touches. So, that marks the end of culminating tasks!
Tomorrow is Prom, so a lot of people will be missing. I’m kind of sad that I don’t get a Prom. Tanicia is going with Arielle, so I’m kind of jealous.
I was supposed to go over to Thomas’ house for dinner and a swim tonight, but Thomas called me up to say they were having leftovers so I should come tomorrow instead, when there will be new food. I finish work at 5:30 and he finishes at 6, so it works out pretty well.
Life is going to be a bit hectic for the next little while. I have exams coming up on Tuesday. I also have to ask Blair about summer hours – if I’m going to be working more in the summer. I suspect I won’t be needed much more because of the construction which is slowing business down. Also, its moving down the street, so I think it will slow down even more as it gets closer. I’m happy about this, though, because I have a full summer planned and I would like to get away to Grand Bend and Ohio for a week, which is much easier to do when work isn’t taking over my life. It takes over my life already and I only work 4 days a week.
So here’s a glimpse at my summer:
1st week July – nothing (possibly Grand Bend)
2nd week July – nothing (possibly Grand Bend)
3rd week July – UCV
4th week July – UCV
1st week August – UCV
2nd week August – Mum’s gone (nothing planned)
3rd week August – Ohio
4th week August – Prepare for school
I hate having all of June wasted. I really miss the American education system.
So hopefully I can get time off to go to Grand Bend (To visit Opa and Oma, go to the beach, and hopefully meet Andrew! I’ve known Andrew online for a while, and he lives in London [the Canadian London], which is only 1 hour from Grand Bend. He has his license, so hopefully he can drive down to see me! I’d like to meet him, considering we’ve known each other for 4 years [wow]) and Ohio. I need to go to Ohio, if anywhere, because Kathryn will be back from Japan, so I can visit her. Also, they start school the last week in August, so I need to visit before then. I miss everyone there so much!
If Blair does want be to work more, I hope that I can just work all week for those two free weeks I have (the one in July I don’t go to GB and the one in August when mum’s gone) to make up for missed time. I’ll also try to be away only on weekdays, since I was originally hired to work weekends. Also, it should be easier with James working now, although he randomly takes days off. I’ve been working far longer and have NEVER taken ANY days off. So Blair really has no right to be mad for me taking weekends off for UCV, especially since I already made it clear I needed those weekends off when he hired me.
Well, that turned out to be quite lengthy, but it feels good to write a bit. I kind of have an itching to write a story, but I know I never will.
