I am working on my culminating project for Issues in Human Growth and Development. For my project I am doing research on how people generally interpret symbols. If you folks would be so inclined to take this survey (it's short, I promise), I'll love you forever :)
Obviously, no personal information is given out. All the survey asks for is your age, gender, and heritage. All comments will be screened.
Also, I can't take the info any later than Sunday, because I have to hand in the project on Monday...A day late already haha :P
Thanks, guys! :)

Survey under here! )

Okay, seriously. The school board people this year must be slackers or something.
It's like, what, the third time it has snowed so far this year?
And I have a snow day.
Yeah, this is the second snow day and it's only December 3rd.

I love it! :D
I particularly love it because I have two tests to study for and a presentation on Hans Christian Andersen to practice for.

Today was hilarious.

At lunch, Jackson & Pat hosted Fear Factor. Yes. Our student council is awesome.
Anyway, Jackson & Pat are HILARIOUS to begin with. Them doing commentary while people eat disgusting foods? Priceless.

Anyway, there were 3 contestants from each grade. For grade 12 was Cassie, Nick, and Kelsey.
The first round was just eating hot chocolate powder. Although, from experience, I know how hard this is without any liquids. And there was a SHITLOAD of powder on the plates.

From our grade, Nick and Kelsey both advanced to the next round.
Six contestants were chosen in total to advance to round two. Round two was a little worse. They had to eat a jello mold which contained cold tuna, sardines, and salmon. Yuuuuuum. Yeah, as Alex so nicely phrased it, "we had regurgitation." Billy started spewing up fish/jello. Yeah, it was at that point we all started getting grossed out.

And yay! Because Nick advanced to the final round! The other person he was competing against was some girl. I'm not sure what grade she was in.
For the final challenge, they had to eat this rather large rubbermaid container with a sort of "hotdog parfait" in it. Yes, included were slices of raw hotdogs, a layer of mayonaise, relish, ketchup, and the ingredient that topped it off - cottage cheese. Yeah, the cottage cheese just multiplied the gross factor by 10.

In the end, the applause-o-meter was pretty close between Nick and the random girl, but Nick won! :D
Yay!

Anyway, that was my daily excitement.

For the past week or two, there is someone on the morning and afternoon announcements at school who keeps saying: "Remember, December 5th is coming." and nothing more.
No one knows that "December 5th" actually is. It's a mystery.

And it's DAMN ANNOYING.

Also, today on Spare, Teddy A. definitely broke one of the tables in the caf by BOUNCING on it.

Today was the most pointless day at school. Ever.

Okay, so it was early dismissal and this year we just had our first two classes.

In Religion we went outside and played in the trenches that the grade 10s dug out (they're really quite awesome. With little dugouts and everything) and then we meditated for the rest of class.

In English we went over to Mrs. Leach's classroom and watched Transformers.

Yeah. It was really productive.

I walked home from school with Thomas and it was HOT OUTSIDE. Holy crap. We got another heat wave.

Aaaand Thomas stayed over for a bit, but I won't really go into detail 'cause I'm sure you don't want to hear about that stuff. Aha. Yes.

Then I walked Thomas home and ended up staying for an hour. Whoops.

At 3:30 I walked to work and that was pretty boring. I did price changes for 2 hours. Yay.

I still have to do my Japanese homework for tomorrow. Yay for procrastination! :)

SO!
Alisha, Tanicia, Kaitlyn, and I went to the Italy trip meeting today.
Only...This year they're going to Italy, Switzerland, and Germany.
AND OMG I AM SO GOING.
Its during March Break. So I emailed Ben to check if he can tell me when exactly I will leave for Japan.

BECAUSE DAMMNIT, I MUST GO!

Also, Paul Juneau is amazing. There were all these grade nines clogging the hallway and staircase and he just came bursting through and pushing kids aside screaming "I'M A FUCKING GRADE TWELVE, GET OUT OF THE WAYYY!!!!!" and we just followed in his wake. It was pretty funny. I love being the oldest :D

Okay so!
Went to school yesterday and picked up my schedule in the caf.
Only, they randomly decided not to write the actual names of the courses and put the course codes instead, so I had no idea what I was actually taking. I did discover that I had Data Management though, and I was like: NO!
Tanicia and Kaitlyn both have spare in the morning. Lucky.
Anyway, first period is Religion with Mr. Hurd who is AWESOME. Our class has this random spearfishing obsession. Also Mr. Hurd uses a microphone. XD Like one that goes around your ear.
Alisha and Thomas and other people are also in this class.
Next is English 4U with Mrs. Kelso. She is nice, but a bit strict. Thomas and Leyna are in this class.
Third period is Issues in Human Growth and Development with Mr. Souter. Only me and Tanicia didn't know what the class was, so we showed up and were like: Um....what is this?! XD
Stephanie, Coline, and some others are in the class. I sat beside Jess yesterday and Nikki today. She's pretty nice. She wants to be a cop :3
And period four was Data Management with Mrs. Brown! Leyna is in that class and so are Ben, Phil, Trisha, Pat, and some others. But I've dropped this class now to take a spare because math will kill my average.
Anyway, it took a few meetings, but Mr. Dionne (guidance) has told me he will credit my Computer Apps. course from Ohio as a tech so I have that requirement filled. So when I come back from Japan all I need are 2 4U level courses so I can go to university! :3

So I have a pretty easy semester. Mrs. Kelso promises that English will have a heavy course load though XP

C'est les hairs )

Today was fun!

I had my religion exam, which was super easy. I finished it in less than an hour.

Then Alisha, Tanicia, and I went out for lunch to Subway and browsed around the mall for a while.
Went back to school to get our bags and then Tanicia and I headed over to Broadway's to find Brenda. Brenda told us to go away, so we went to shoppers. I bought stuffs for my hairs :)
Then we walked to Mac's and got frosters because we thought Brenda left us.
Then we went with Brenda to Giant Tiger and made fools of ourselves.
And then Brenda drove me home! :)

Work later tonight, and then studying for English!

Okay, Friday!
Friday was pretty good, it was very hot outside!
Classes were back to normal schedule, so I had Art first.
Ummm, at lunch we went to Broadway's and I had an oreo milkshake and shared some cheesesticks with Kaitlyn.
Religion was odd...Mrs. Mac started crying and I felt so bad...I don't know why she was crying, though :(

Then I went to work, which was slow and boring. Stopped at the Post Office afterwards, but there was nothing.
Came home and started getting ready to go to Thomas's house when his dad called and offered to pick me up on his way to pick Thomas up from work. Turns out Thomas was way behind at work, so Paul and I went back to the house and made the pizza for supper. Then Thomas came home and we went outside and had a swim...while listening to Techno.
Got kind of cold, so we went inside and ate supper.
Afterwards we hung out on the couch and watched some TV. BOB BARKER'S LAST EPISODE OF PRICE IS RIGHT!!!!!!!!!!! I was so sad :(
Then Helen, Rob, and Cassie's parents came over but we ignored them :P
When they left we all watched the movie Blue Streak. It was really funny :3
Then me and Thomas and Paul went out to watch the fireflies and then Thomas hugged me and then I went home o_o
Aaaand, I forgot my hairbrush at their house :/

Anyway, off to work for me!

So there was no modem in the mail yesterday. Therefore, my internets is still wonky. I am surprised it is working this morning. Anyway, here's what I wrote for Thursday:

Mum left this morning, so I am on my own now. She’s gone for 5 days to Newfoundland. I wish I could be there with her, because I’ve never been to Newfoundland, but she’s going with Steve….Ick.

Anyway, Had classes backwards again today, so Religion was first. Mrs. Mac was in a good mood and took pictures of our whole class together outside the portable…While O Canada was playing! Bad Mrs. Mac! Kaitlyn missed the picture taking and her response was “Good!” I used to be that way. I used to hate getting my picture taken. Then I realised it was all for show, and I started regretting that I hadn’t got a picture of myself at certain times. Like when we went to Belgium. I spent far too much time being annoying and not enough time experiencing the country.

Oh, so Mrs. Mac told us that we could either do review or go and watch Mrs. Vio’s play because they didn’t have anyone to watch it. Naturally, everyone voted for seeing the play. They were doing The Important of Being Earnest, which is one of my favourite plays! It was funny because they had 2 casts, so once an actor couldn’t remember a line, they would switch with the other actor. Thomas was in it as Earnest. Also, Billy played Algernon and I was surprised that he hardly messed up! He was really good, actually. So yeah, it was funny! (But those were such long lines to memorize!!!)

Next was English, which was a bore. As usual. Mr. Finner made it a “study period” where we could ask him any questions we had…Only no one had any. Also, Mr. Finner left the room repeatedly for unspecified amounts of time. Anyway, I did work out of the grammar packet just for something to do. I keep forgetting to bring in a book.

At lunch Tanicia, Kaitlyn, Arielle, Alisha, and I went to Shopper’s and amused ourselves for a while. Then we slowly went back to school, baking in the sun in the process.

Philosophy was good, not as many boring lectures today. Then Mr. Evans asked us what we wanted to do on Monday to celebrate the end of class and Sarah suggested that we could all bring in some food and then Billy and I yelled “POTLUCK!!!!” at the same time. I turned around and we gave each other a knowing look. It was funny. Billy has certainly changed over the year….As have I. I wonder if it could be because of Philosophy. Anyway, I remember complaining about him in Math, how annoying and loud he was. He still is loud, but less annoying, funnier, and more intellectual. So yeah, then we had a short debate about uniforms before the bell rang. Oh, and I think I’ll bake some cupcakes or something for the class for Monday.

In Art we started the written part of our culminating task. We basically had to fill a piece of paper with information on an artist. I chose Frank Stella, for no particular reason. I just liked his name. Anyway, Mrs. Girard wanted to have us finish today, but she’s crazy so I think enough people complained that we have tomorrow to work on it too. I’m done, just need to add a few finishing touches. So, that marks the end of culminating tasks!
Tomorrow is Prom, so a lot of people will be missing. I’m kind of sad that I don’t get a Prom. Tanicia is going with Arielle, so I’m kind of jealous.
I was supposed to go over to Thomas’ house for dinner and a swim tonight, but Thomas called me up to say they were having leftovers so I should come tomorrow instead, when there will be new food. I finish work at 5:30 and he finishes at 6, so it works out pretty well.

Life is going to be a bit hectic for the next little while. I have exams coming up on Tuesday. I also have to ask Blair about summer hours – if I’m going to be working more in the summer. I suspect I won’t be needed much more because of the construction which is slowing business down. Also, its moving down the street, so I think it will slow down even more as it gets closer. I’m happy about this, though, because I have a full summer planned and I would like to get away to Grand Bend and Ohio for a week, which is much easier to do when work isn’t taking over my life. It takes over my life already and I only work 4 days a week.

So here’s a glimpse at my summer:
1st week July – nothing (possibly Grand Bend)
2nd week July – nothing (possibly Grand Bend)
3rd week July – UCV
4th week July – UCV
1st week August – UCV
2nd week August – Mum’s gone (nothing planned)
3rd week August – Ohio
4th week August – Prepare for school

I hate having all of June wasted. I really miss the American education system.
So hopefully I can get time off to go to Grand Bend (To visit Opa and Oma, go to the beach, and hopefully meet Andrew! I’ve known Andrew online for a while, and he lives in London [the Canadian London], which is only 1 hour from Grand Bend. He has his license, so hopefully he can drive down to see me! I’d like to meet him, considering we’ve known each other for 4 years [wow]) and Ohio. I need to go to Ohio, if anywhere, because Kathryn will be back from Japan, so I can visit her. Also, they start school the last week in August, so I need to visit before then. I miss everyone there so much!
If Blair does want be to work more, I hope that I can just work all week for those two free weeks I have (the one in July I don’t go to GB and the one in August when mum’s gone) to make up for missed time. I’ll also try to be away only on weekdays, since I was originally hired to work weekends. Also, it should be easier with James working now, although he randomly takes days off. I’ve been working far longer and have NEVER taken ANY days off. So Blair really has no right to be mad for me taking weekends off for UCV, especially since I already made it clear I needed those weekends off when he hired me.

Well, that turned out to be quite lengthy, but it feels good to write a bit. I kind of have an itching to write a story, but I know I never will.

1. Internet's been crazy lately. It actually disconnected us for about 3 days. Randomly it started working again tonight, but I'm not holding my breath. Anyway, we think the problem might be in the modem, so mum's ordered a new one.

2. Mum's going away to Newfoundland tomorrow morning for 5 days! I'm kind of jealous.

3. WHY DOES EVERYONE THINK THOMAS IS IN LOVE WITH ME!?!?!?! JESUS. Can't I go anywhere in this town without being harassed anymore!!!!?

4. Mr Finner is officially the oddest teacher ever. He has this new obsession with his video camera and he carries it around and videos people ALL THE TIME. I think I'm in a bunch of his videos. Also, he has facebook....Weeeeird.

5. Had this sore-thing on my lip and mum finally went and called the doctor. My appointment was today but it was kind of embarrassing because the sore fixed itself or whatever and was basically gone.

6. I finished wallpapering and painting my room! It looks nice, but it's very dark now...I also rearranged the furniture. Yay!

7. EXAMS START NEXT TUESDAY!!! AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

8. Went over to Thomas's house tonight for a swim. It was actually a bit chilly, but still refreshing. The pool is 25 now, so it wasn't bad. I got some sun, I think. Yay for that. I hate the pasty whiteness.

So on Cultures Shocked a while ago, we were talking about whether or not English should be the official language of the US. Someone made an argument that it should be English because the English were here first. I pointed out that if that's how you want to go about it, than we all should be learning Native American.
Anyway, what this is all leading up to is this comic.

Also, some kid got arrested at school today...?
For having a weapon or knives or something.

Also, got my yearbook today!!! :D
Aaand Thomas ran off with it. Meanie.

1. Art - Still no Mrs. Girard. She won't be coming in until Monday at the earliest. Until then we have MRS IVAY AS OUR SUB!!!! WOOOOO!! Mrs. Ivay is so cool :D
Anyway, our sculptures all dried too quickly and need to go in the kiln so they're falling apart D:

2. Philosophy - Handed in my culminating!!! Other than that, did a lot of reading and highlighting.

3. Lunch - Stayed in and practiced my Macbeth lines.

4. English - Did our Macbeth presentation!!! All went well, and Rebecca only messed up once near the end when she forgot her line. Whoops :P
AND OMG. Chris Scott's movie was soooo funny XDDD
Not even joking, there was a workout montage. To the Rocky theme song. Sooo funny.

5. Religion - Did some more stuff about Judaism...There was also some random kid in our class who just got back from France???? Yeah, I dunno. Anyway, we're starting Anti-Semitism now.

We were talking about the guy who died (Steven, I guess he had diabetes, passed out, and died..??) and Joel was all like, "Yeah, his skin was really blue, I did his cosmetics." And we were like o__o WTF. And Joel was all like, "Yeah, I work in a morgue." And then the sub (Mrs. Girard got in a car accident XDDDD ditz.) was asking all sorts of questions. I must admit it was kind of cool.

2. OMG PAIN. I hurt so much from last night ;_;

For Religion class today, we has Mrs. Dunn as a sub. She is awesomeness.
So funny. While reading the announcements:
"Does anyone need the summer school information?"
*Class mumbles incoherently*
"Well, if you need information go and talk to...a bunch of people."
*Class laughs*
"Well, you know what I mean! The guidance people!"

And then. She started singing the transformers theme song.
And also started talking about Optimus Prime??? XDD
I love her <3

Also, Dustin stole my Macbeth book today at lunch and RAN OFF WITH IT. AWAY.
And then he ran into the bathroom :(((
But I discovered he had hid it beside the phone :P

Weirdness has been occurring at school over the past 2 days.
By weirdness, I mean strange brown outs and constant power surges that are getting quite annoying. I hope they have it sorted out by Monday.

NO SCHOOL TOMORROW!!! YAY.
Spending all day doing my 3 essays (bad procrastination, bad!!) and studying for my Japanese final exam o_o
I have managed to learn some katakana, so that's a start...meep.

Um, on the way home today, Bill (the bus driver) randomly took a different way and I got all confused XP
I ended up getting off near Alex & Emilie's house, which isn't far, but it was odd...
Bill is odd.

Oh! And I had incars last night!! It went well, I think. I haven't checked the marks Jason gave us, but we did pretty well. I drove down Prescott street for the first time! ^o^ And I went through my first traffic light! I actually like driving at night (lesson was from 8:30-10:30) because there is less traffic, and the town is well-lit, so I can still see XDD~

So yep, that's it :)

Wow, okay.

So today at lunch Kaitlyn, Alisha, Tanicia, and I walked down to the Dairy Barn to get some icecream :)
It took forever, so by the time lunch was almost over, we were just barely finishing. So Amanda (who came with Haley too) was like, "It's okay, I'll drive you all back!"
I was like o__o "Are we all going to fit?!"

So we go to the car and Haley and Amanda are in the front. Tanicia, Kaitlyn in the middle and then Alisha. They are already squished. I managed to get in (after not being able to even get my head it at first) and end up kind of sprawled across Alisha and suffocating Kaitlyn. My head was touching the ceiling. And we seriously drove back to school like that. Holy crap, it was the craziest thing ever :P

Then, before art class, I opened my bottle of rootbeer and it exploded all over me and the floor :(
I had this big brown patch over my boob. Kind of embarassing :P But at least it was last period.

And so I have my Japanese final exam next week, so somehow I have to teach myself Katakana by Saturday O____O
