HAPPY 2007 EVERYBODY!!!!!

I JUST HAD PRETTY MUCH THE BEST NEW YEARS EVER.

So, Mum and I went over to Thomas' at around 7pm.
It was a small gathering, maybe 12-15 people in all?
The 'young people' were me, Thomas, Cassie (Grade 9. On my bus), and Liam (Grade 11. In Functions class avec moi).
At first we were all kind of quiet, at least until Cassie came, because she is crazy energetic.

We (including adults) started a kokono (sp? never even heard of the game until tonight) tournament, so we basically spent the night/morning playing it nonstop. We also watched some Just For Laughs and Monty Python and Liam & Thomas' MacBeth movie :3

Oh! And we also played spoons, AKA the best card game ever! XD It got pretty funny when people started lunging for the spoons. Fun fun.

And Cassie and I got along really well o__o We're like, buddybudyy now :D
Lovesloves Cassie.

We were watching MacBeth and then it ended and the TV said 11:48 so we were like o___o WOW IT'S ALMOST NEW YEARS and turned on the coundown thing for Barrie XD
And then we all got champagne (ginger ale/punch for us kids. wtf.) and counted down and clinked glasses and YAY!

And then me and Thomas and me and Cassie exchanged New Years kisses :3333
But not me and Liam, because I dunno. He's a really quiet & reserved guy and I barely know him XD Awkward much.

So then we hung around, were rowdy, and played more kokono-game-things.

Eventually Mum and I went home, at like 1 AM. And it was freezing rain out.
Which rained over all the snow we had and the cleared roads. So yeah, we had an interesting walk home. I fell once and hit my knee, butt XD Owwwieee~
Took us like 1/2 an hour to walk home XDDD

Anyway, my New Years rocked. I love these people. These are the people I want to spend my holidays, my happiest times with.
I hope Cassie & I will still talk when we see each other on the bus and stuff.
Weird that I keep making friends with people younger than me...

Ah, well.

HAPPY 2007! MAY IT BE A GREAT YEAR!

Anje's 2007 New Years Resolutions

I, Anje, solemnly resolve to
cheat off of Michael because the rum's gone
win at Jeopardy against CharlesIngalls but with pizzazz
join a 12-step program to get over Inara on Brokeback Mountain
and last but not least, to stop stalking Demetrius

I went to bed at like 2 AM last night. This morning, whatever.
And of course I paid for it, as I now feel like crap. Slept until quarter after 10.

Going to New Years party at Thomas' tonight. Better start napping anyway, I'm horrible at staying up late unless I am on a sugar/caffine high.

So, my Christmas was pretty good.

I am still lamenting over the lack of snow. Sarah (my cousin pair. We come in pairs. Nathan and Jonathan are the same age, Nick and Danielle are the same age, and then me and Sarah.) and I and Opa and Uncle Joe T. (Sarah's dad) went for a walk down to the beach last night, mainly so we wouldn't have to do dishes XD But anyway, we kept saying how it could've been summer, us walking down on the beach, a cool breeze, mild temperature. Crazy.

Anyway, I arrived in Grand Bend on Saturday night, after a stopover at Mum's friend Jill's house for a party she was having. I had my first jello shot! XD And it was funny because another lady, whom apparently knew me when I was like, two, had her first one as well. That was fun :)

On Christmas Eve, Opa, Oma, Mum, and I opened our presents together. I gave Mum a personalized keychain with a "k" and "katrina" spelled out on the little tag-thinger. I gave Opa and Oma belgian sea shells XD Opa didn't want to share. Opa and Oma gave me amazingly awesome presents. I got a set of dictionaries. They are the most beautiful things I have even seen. They are Oxford University dictionaries, with over 1/2 a million entries, with quotes from shakespeare, the bible, and others, and they have entries dating back from the 1700s. They are massive and come in 2 volumes. Lovely things. *hugs dictionaries*. They also gave me the Elvis Aloha From Hawaii 2-disc DVD XDDD That is so awesome. I also got a chocolate letter (standard fair) and a pretty day-planner with famous paintings and pictures and stuffs. Opa remarked, "Hey, there's Anne Frank. At age 13." and then Oma cynically replied, "Well, she didn't live much longer anyway," in this really obnoxious tone. XD Wow, I love my grandparents.
Oh! And Mum gave me a cookbook called Graceland's Table! XD More Elvis! It has original recipes from the kitchen at Graceland and some recipes from fans that they thought Elvis would like. Some interesting stuff in there.

Then yesterday was the family Christmas. Oma spent most of the day doing last minute preparations and bitching at Opa -_-. Then, at around 4:30, Joe and Bridget came. Yaaay /sarcasm. Bridget is...Putting it mildly, talkative. First thing she did was yap her head off at us because of Sydney's pink hair. Yeah. Anyway, they left quickly because they had to get their hotel room key. Yay. But then they came back. Oh well, family is family, I suppose.
At around 5, the Turners came, Aunt Saskia, Uncle Joe, Jon, Nick, and Sarah.
We all talked in the living room for a while and then we ate supper. All 12 of us couldn't fit at the big table, so Sarah and I got a little round table for two XDDDD It was so funny. Nick kept yelling, "OUTCAST TABLE!" and we kept saying, "No! We're special! We get our own table." It was funny. The table was like a little cafe table or something, we had our own wine glasses and a little candle in the middle. Awesome.
Omg. And then Uncle Joe T. made the best remark of the whole night. See, earlier we had joked about Jon's hair, because its really long and he looks like Jesus. Seriously. He even dressed in a robe, grabbed a loaf of bread, and went out as Jesus at Halloween. Then, Oma was saying how this was going to be the last time she was going to cook a whole Christmas meal. So Uncle Joe says, "So...If there are 12 of us, and this is the last supper...And we have Jesus..." And everyone burst out laughing. Then he continued, "..So if we have Jesus, all I want to know is...Who is Judas?" XDDD I love Uncle Joe. He rocks.

After supper, we opened presents. I got to be the official present passer outer. I also got another book, from Opa and Oma, called The Book of Small by Emily Carr. Then Mum and I got the generic Aunt Saskia present, but we got yummy citrus sage bubble bath :3

And we gave Opa his birthday present. Mum had emailed everyone and asked for us all to write our favourite or best memory of Opa. I wrote about porridge, because it was the first thing I could remember XDD So anyway, Mum took all the letters and then made them up in a scrapbook with pictures and everything. And OMG Jon wrote about making Opa go see Beverly Hills Ninjas with him XDDDDD So anyway, we gave it to Opa, and he opened up the book and started crying. It was sooo sweet. He had to leave the room. I think that was the first time I have ever seen Opa cry. So I guess he liked it :)
Only, UNCLE JOE THAT TWIT. (Not Joe T.) didn't write anything for the book! He said, "Sorry can't do it. No time." At least Bridget had the decency to write a little paragraph. And Uncle Joe never even passed on the message to Nathan or Danielle, so they aren't in there either, because of him. Grr. So annoying.
Uncle Joe has serious problems. He has lost his relationship with his children and he hates his marriage and he's got loads of issues because of it. I feel sorry for him, because he messed up his life, but at the same time, what he did was just rude.
Anyway.

Overall, it was a pretty nice Christmas. The two things that made it nice were Jon and Sarah.
When I was little, I always looked up to Jonathan. He was so funny and cool and I loved him kinda like a younger sister. But he's been away at university lately and I don't really see them often. And I never see the Niagra Falls people. I don't think I've seen Nathan and Danielle for like 3 years. Anyway, when he came into the living room, I was sitting in the big comfy chair and he comes up behind me and ruffled my hair a little bit. Just like I was a little girl again :) And then he hugged everyone and I felt kind of awkward, so he says, "Aw, c'mon, give me a hug," so I did :) He's such a sweet guy.
And at Thanksgiving, I didn't really get a chance to see Sarah much and also we didn't talk a lot, for some reason. We hadn't been getting along so well lately, not because we had like, mean feelings towards each other or anything, just because we were growing apart. Y'know? We like totally different things now. But since we were at the small 'outcast' table, away from everyone else, we started talking. And talking and talking. And it was just like old times. We actually get along great, and Sarah is a good influence on me because she is amazingly kind and considerate and always says "thank you" and "please" and is overall a really sweet girl. Not that I'm not, but I'm kind of reserved about those things, truthfully. I am hesitant to give hugs or say "happy holidays". I dunno. Anyway, it was nice to talk with her like that again.

Then I took painting lessons with Oma for the last 2 days, which was fun, and I think she really liked it that I was showing an interest in painting :3
I actually don't know why I did, I just randomly felt like painting one day, but we don't have the supplies at home, so that was upsetting.

Anyway, I drove part of the way to Guelph yesterday and I went to Amy's overnight. We had fun :)

Now I am avec le Phoebe and am going home tomorrow. Yay! I am kind of tired of all the visiting and travelling @_@

Hope everyone had a good holiday :)
A bigger update when I am at Phoebe's (the 29th) and have my laptop to use. I have loads of stuff written on there :D

And now, Prepare to be cuteified )

Also! I drove today (Mum's been making me drive everyday) and I had my first parallel parking lesson AND I had to stop on a hill (a small one) and then drive up it to move again. It was kind of bad, and there was a car behind me that I had to wave ahead, but I did it on the 3rd try! XDD

EDIT: Oma has been giving me painting lessons for the past 2 days, since she's an artist by trade. Today we drove down to the beach to paint the sky. I guess I did pretty good for my first real try at watercolours, since Oma and Opa seemed to like it a lot.
Judge it for yourself )

So I planned on taking a nap last night and then maybe staying up for some Shiver RPing.
Yeah, that didn't happen, I just went to sleep.
I woke up at 5 AM, though, which was ridiculous.
Then 7 AM. Then 8 AM.
And then I just stayed up.

Anyway, I've started playing Shiver more. It's fun, I missed it :)

I feel like I can play now without being obsessive.
Like, before I was completely obsessed and did nothing but play Shiver, think about Shiver, etc. etc.

Now I can not play in a big scene and feel okay about it.
It doesn't bother me that I miss out on big scenes. Or even small scenes. Or AIM chats.

This is really a good thing, because I tend to be obsessive, to be frank about it.
I guess I feel the need for something routine or stable because my life is never routine or stable at all.
I do it with a lot of stuff, like that orange juice thing I had going on where I drank nothing but orange juice for a few months and I would finish off a carton a day or the handwashing routine with the soap + purell + lotion. All those obsessive tendencies.

I feel like I've gotten over my Shiver obsession and now it's just something I really like. No more obsessive tendencies.
This is yay.

And um, that evil Japanese song is playing over and over in my head and it's even worse that I know the lyrics in English now. EVIL I TELL YOU!

Oh, and I'm starting to plan for Christmas! :D (It's weird that all you Americans are having Thanksgiving now. QII Thanksgiving was in October! >:O)
Mum and I are doing massive baking: nanimo bars, strawberries, rum balls, the whole works.
I also want to make some of my own stuff, like the pinwheels from UCV and maybe attempt at some buckeyes for Ohio Pride.
I should also start looking into cards, too.

AND MUM IS CONSIDERING GETTING A TREE!!!!
We never get a Christmas tree, because we always go away during the holidays!
Yay!
