Since you asked for it... )

Now that I'm less lazy, I'll add in some details too.
I basically followed this recipe.

I started out with about 6 pounds of beef and added in the ingredients to basically make meatloaf. Next time I might add some more spices or garlic or something because the meat was a tiny bit dull, IMO.
Then I patted down the meat into 3 disposable cake tin things. And baked them. The meat really shrank up around the edges and was not all pretty and cake-shaped when it came time to be removed from the oven :(

So I made up the ketchup glaze (which I had waaaay too much of, because I didn't put any on the top of the cake). And I leveled off the meat cakes, stacked them, and ketchuped in between.

Then I made the potatoe flake potatoes (ew) and slathered them on the cake. This proved VERY difficult at first, so I added a ton more milk to make it thinner. Then the icing went on much easier. And I put some leftover potatoes in a bag, cut the end, inserted a tip, and piped on the potatoe icing details.

And I topped the cake with a sprig of mint!

Next time I may try using potatoes in between layers so they stick better. I had a bit of a problem when cutting it with the layers falling apart. Also, I would just do 2 layers, because 3 is a tiny bit excessive.

Ta da!

I finally made this beauty:

IS IT CAKE? IS IT MEAT?! )

Sorry there aren't any pictures of the process. My hands were waaaayy too meaty and I was in a bit of a rush.

Lately I have been obsessed with baking and cooking. Now that I can actually do it somewhat well. Like, things don't burn and get misshapen and stuff anymore :P

So this morning I made chocolate chip pancakes, because I had been wanting to for a while, and I figured I should eat to make me smarter for tutoring XD
Anyway, my first time making pancakes...

Then, this afternoon I made Ginger-Pear Crisp because the pears Mum had gotten for me forever ago were going bad. It smells good, we'll see how that goes.

Here's the before:

I also made a little yummy with the leftovers from Mum's cherry pie crust. She decided to make one last night with our frozen cherries that we have lots of :3

I cooked it, but it just looks browner now, that's all XD
She drew the Kanji for "tree" on the crust XD I was like "...Oookkay"

Um, so yeah! We are going over to Maryanne's for supper tonight. She is supposedly a very good cook, so that should be nice. I hope James isn't there XD It's just so...awkward

Guess what I made today!! :D
Here's a hint:

I MADE MY OWN BUTTER! :) It took forever and my arms are killing me, but it's aaaalll mine. Yay :)
I wanted to colour it pink with food colouring, to make it cute, but Mum wouldn't let me because she said it was weird and gross XDD~

Also, I got new shoes today! Turns out that St. Laurent Centre was having a huge sidwalk sale today, so I got this super-cute pair of shoes to wear with my kilt at school. Now I can wear uniform shoes and not break my neck!
Lookit!

And um, school, right!
Today started second semester, so a lot of people weren't there and we got one new person. I couldn't tell if it was a girl or a guy until he was introduced as Sebastian o_o
Right. Well. We started on Kanji today. That was fun, I guess.
And we also did stuff with prepositions, because we all suck at those.
And ummm...We did a lot of conversation and learned a lot of new vocab. Oh! And we also did adjectives.
Fun, fun.

Wow, it's pouring rain outside. Everyone is hoping that the freezing rain all the forecasters are calling for will happen tonight, so we can have a snow day. Or ice day, rather. Apparently they have those here quite frequently.

Anyway, Alex greeted me this morning with, "So did you pick up your garbadge?"
Here's the backstory:
Yesterday afternoon, this white thing rolled out from my driveway, coming home from the bus. Alex yelled at me to pick up my garbadge. I informed him that it wasn't mine and I didn't even know what it was, nevermind where it came from. Alex kept insisting that it really was mine and that I should stop littering. The thing was a laundry basket-thing, by the way. White and cylindrical.
So this afternoon he keeps bothering me about it and I tell him that it wasn't mine and I didn't even have it anymore.
Alex tells me to stop contributing to the greenhouse effect. XD

Anyway, turns out the thing is stuck in our shrubs in the yard.

So we didn't have confession at all today, because apparently they were behind because there were only 2 priests. So things were going slowly. I hope we just don't have to go tomorrow, and if one of my classes does, I'm just going to say that I went already. Or if I get forced into it, I'll just do what Kaitlyn does and tell the priest I'm not Catholic >_>
I hate how they force this on you, we never did confession at NDCL.
Whatevs.

And then we had the chapter test in Functions. Holy shit.
That was intense, and I even knew what I was doing. Which was probably why it was so hard, because I knew I wasn't doing things right, while on the other tests I had no idea what we were even doing, so I made up things, which is easy to do XD
Anyway, the last question was: "Create a sequence that is both arithmetic and geometric."
So after trying for like 5 minutes I was like QII and put down "0,0,0,0" XDDD
Hey, 0 x 0 = 0 and 0 + 0 = 0 so it works.

Also! Cooking supper tonight is yay! I went back to making cassaroles, because I like them and because they're easy and always turn out edible, unlike my multiple failed trys on the medieval recipes.

Japanese class seemed longer than usual today, but that was alright because today was an I Like Japanese Class and Learning About Japanese type of day.

We started chapter five AKA days of the week and months etc etc. So now I can say my birthday AND write it in Kanji, because sensei is cool like that and teaches us Kanji and then says, BUT DON'T USE IT OKAY USE HIRAGANA!
XD

Also! I am not the oldest in the class! I discovered this today and it makes me feel much better. Also, Ken-kun is sooo cute! He's in grade 4 XD And is really funny. "I wake up a 5 am. Sometimes 4. Yesterday I woke up at 2 am." XD Me and Katrina were like...Oookay then, whatever you say. (We had to make a paragraph about someone in the group)

And then Ryan and Gab totally butchered their paragraph and it made no sense at all and even sensei was laughing. It was amazing. They will never live it down. Ever.

Came home and called to set up a haircut appointment! Yay! It's on Tuesday, after school. I don't get what's up with hair salons here. There are seriously 7 in Kemptville, which has a population of around 5,000. Are people getting their hair cut every day or what? Because every salon is ALWAYS BUSY. QII. Makes no sense.
Anyway, I'm getting it cut. I'll see what the stylist thinks of getting something short (as in like ear length short) and how it would work with my hair. If I don't do that, then I'll just get layers and some different bangs. Yay :)

Now I am baking rum cake (finally) because we got eggs today. And Mum is putting up Christmas lights, I think, she started saying something but the electric mixer was going, so I have no idea XD

I think I've become addicted to cooking.
Seriously.

But I've decided to be extra cautious with the medieval recipes from now on XD

Anyway, today I made those fryed apple pie thingers, only I changed the recipe.

I used the puff pastry dough and rolled out the 2 sections into 2 large squares. Then I cut the squares into quarters, put some of the apple filling in (appled chopped up finely, brown sugar, cinnamon, ginger, orange blossom water) and then pinched the pastry together at the top, like a little pouch. Then I brushed on some butter (I was too lazy to break an egg) and sprinkled some more brown sugar over the top and baked them until they looked done. They're cooling down now. I wonder how they'll taste! :D

Then I made a variation of the wassail, which was 2 cups of grape juice, 1 can of frozen orange juice, 2 cups of water, lots of cinnamon, ginger, and allspice, 4 whole cloves, and a splash of rum. And it's heating up on the stove top. Kinda like a mixture between grape juice and mulled apple cider. It tastes sooo good!

I was also going to make a rum cake, but then we only had 1 egg left. QII.

Okay, well, supper wasn't a complete disaster.
I did manage to stab myself with the Big Ass Knife and burn myself on hot pans twice and boil over the potatoes and mess up the bread and was not able to open the wine bottle (I substitued grape juice XD), though :D
So yes, there was sufficient messing up.

And after 3 hours of cooking, I was sooo tired and fed up that I didn't bother to make the wassail or the fryed apple pie thingers.

So I'll do that tomorrow.

Anyway, here's a meme I stole from Nikki because I am bored! )

Okay, it's ridiculous that when I am walking home from the bustop at TWO FOURTY-FIVE IN THE AFTERNOON that the SUN IS SETTING! QII!
It's crazy.

Also, Phil had a xylophone on the bus today and kept playing the mario theme song. Over and over again. And then he was playing Disney music. THE WHOLE BUSRIDE.

Umm, today was pretty good.

I am pretty sure I got 100% on that Functions quiz, which will REALLY boost my grade. Hopefully. Because I totally own at sequences and series. Actually the whole class probably does, but whatever. It makes me feel good.

Had that test on the Caribbean in T&T today, I think I did alright. I wasn't sure about some of the questions and I kinda did a half-ass job on the Make Your Own Cruise part. I passed, though, which is good. Probably Level 3.

Then went to the library in Civics to work on our posters some more. Me and Steph went over to the art room to ask for construction paper, and Mrs. Girard pretty much bit our heads off holy crap. She was really pissed off and was like, "YOU'RE INTERRUPTING THE CLASS!" when she wasn't even teaching and everyone was being really loud and not working at all. So we were like okay, whatever and took the paper and left XD

Going to make supper tonight! Stewed beef stuff and mashed potatoes and bread which I am making myself and this cider-like drink thing. :D
I clarified the butter last night in an attempt to make ghee, and I was pretty proud of myself, because it actually worked!

AND NO SCHOOL TOMORROW WHOO!

Okay, I really have to share this site.
Because it is too awesome not to.
Gode Cookery

Since I am being forced to cook meals on Thursdays and because I want to bake loads of goodies for Christmas, I have been scouring the web for some good recipes. And I figure, hey, I like history, so why not blend the two together?
Afterall, thats what I want to research next year at UCV: historical cooking. Even if it is just an excuse to go to the farms XD (No, I actually like cooking, it's just hard is all)

Anyway, this site rocks because it has a whole wack of historical recipes and even better, the translations.
So you can actually make those crazy recipes that call for "roysonys" and "zesy".

I'll be very disheartened if everyone's already heard of this site. XD

It seems that my cooking day has been moved to Thursday, since Mum teaches Thursday nights and wants a hot supper before she goes.
My food today was a little messed up, but Mum said it tasted pretty good. I haven't eaten any yet because I feel like mac 'n' cheese, but I can't decide if I want to dirty up pans or not.
Anyway, it was another cassarole, because I'm lazy :D It had a layer of carrots and potatoes on the bottom, then sasuage, which I completely butchered(Hahaha) in the cutting process, a layer of onions, and cream of celery soup ontop.
Yay for cooking and not messing up (too much)~!

Shiver Halloween Meme :D )

Anyway, baked sugar cookies in Careers today :3
I was a little ehm, concerned, at first because I was in Mr. Ivay's group, but he turned to to be fairly normal today. Except when Jamie and I couldn't find any hand soap and Mr. Ivay took the box of dishwasher powder-stuff and was like, "Here. Wash your hands." Our response: "..."
So, our group, which consisted of me, Natalie, and Jamie, made amazing cookies, and then everyone kept eating them!
And then Issac hijacked our cookie sheet for his man and his quesidilla cookies.
It was fun though, especially when Jenny's cookies caught on fire XD!

Ha, and then we were talking about the fudge that Mrs. Ivay made for us, and Mr. Ivay said he had brought it to school, but noone knew where it was. So Someone was like, "Mr. Galbraith ate it!" (He was in the room at that point) and Mr. Galbraith gives us this serious look and says, "Yes, I ate it all and it was delicious." XD He has such a weird sense of humour. He never smiles, so you can't tell if he's serious or not.

Yeah, so, after that I had T&T. We went over the notes and stuff from when Mr. Galbraith was away and started this new project where we have to plan a road trip to Florida. Yeahhh.

Then at lunch, Katelynn, Tanicia, Alisha, and I walked to Mac's and got frosters. Despite the fact that it was like, 0 degrees out. Then we went back to school and hung out in the stairwell until we were allowed upstairs.

Went to APS, took a quiz on race & ethnicity. Took notes. Blah. Boring. Thomas had kleenex box tops (As in the part that you rip off) in his bookbage for some odd reason and threw one at me. Weirdo.

Had a really nice sub for Functions today. She was actually entertained by Billy, except for when he started carrying the overhead projector and when he knocked the clock off the wall. She was really good humoured, but still tryed to maintain control. Which is quite hard with that class. Yeah, and I didn't really do any of the work because it made no sense to me. At all.

I might be going out to look at some house on Clothier St. in a bit with Opa. Oma is convinced she wants to move to Kemptville, but I think it's rather silly in reality. Plus I would miss going to Grand Bend. And I like their house. I've probably spent half my life in that house, I don't know what I would do if they didn't live there.

Yep, and going out to supper at Frank's tonight, Opa's treat. Yay :)

HALLOWEEN IS TOMORROW!!!

Half-days definately rock my socks.
Yay for getting out of school at 10:47.
And doing practically nothing for 3 hours, yeah!

Then Mum & I went to Brockville to pick up Opa.
I ended up not going to Kaitlyn's because Alisha was stupid and didn't know where she lived, other than "It's a blue house on County Rd. 18," which didn't really appease the mother. So yeah.

Cooked supper, since its Friday. I made a hamburger cassarole with mashed potatoes & cheese on top and beef, onions, tomato soup, and mixed vegetables on the bottom. Wasn't bad, but I don't really like eating my own cooking. It's weird.

Sometimes my mother really ticks me off. Grr.
She's making me cook supper every Friday night. She KNOWS how bad a cook I am! Not only does food shrivel up and die when I BREATHE on it, I have no idea how to cook or WHAT to cook. Ahh! I told her I didn't want to eat anything I made.
This is going to be disasterous. Does she want to get food sick?
In which I whine about how much my cooking sucks )

Anywhobunnies.
Let's recap our day, shall we? :D

Functions: Took a quiz! o__o I had no idea we had a quiz today. It was on quadratics. And OMGWTF it was hard! I probably got like, Level 1. Argh. Bad.

APS: Did my Dian Fossey presentation! It went well! I am proud! I didn't mess up my powerpoint and I actually ad libbed well and I didn't make up stuff that wasn't on the paper as much as I usually do! :D I am happy. Justin (Stutter boy) was looking at the the whole time, and I found it comforting to look at him when I made eye contact with the audience. I dunno, he just had this encouraging look. Maybe I was making it up, but oh well, I felt good :P

Lunch: STAYED INSIDE AGAIN AHH! Stupid rain and cold. Didn't do much else besides torment Alisha.

T&T: Well, started out with the damn sub making me go down to the office and ask about my shoes. They are SO dressy enough argh! Idiot woman. Now I have to go buy new dress shoes. Seriously. They were dressy enough for NDCL, so WTF!
Then Mr. Musca AKA THE PRINCIPAL subbed for the rest of the class and we did this worksheet thinger.

Careers: Went into the computer lab today and finished career cruising. AGAIN. Had fun shooting imaginary guns and having lightsaber wars with Ty Ty. <3
Then we went down to the volleyball game for like 5 minutes before Mr. Ivay was all like, NO WE HAVE TO LEAVE NOW K and we had to go back to class.
Then we did this retarded thing where college people and university people went off into groups and we wrote down what everyone wanted to be and then made similarities. Yeahh.

So.
I am really bored and working on Sariya now! I am making up a language! :D It probably sucks and makes no sense, I'm not gonna lie. But I figured it might be useful. I really want to finish Sariya at somepoint XD. Or like, it'll just take up space on my harddrive forever. And ever.
