just so i remember:

ingredients:
beef strips
soy sauce
sesame oil stuff
lemon juice
sake
ginger
chile powder
pepper
garlic powder

method:
stir fry ingredients & mix with veggies (i did beans and carrots). serve over rice.

so yesterday, asumi, mum, and i went on a shopping extravaganza in ottawa.

we started out at ikea, then proceeded to eat lunch at a japanese restaurant, then stopped at rona, and then went to south keys.

at south keys, we went to chapters, globo, winners, walmart, and saw revolutionary road in the cinema.

at chapters, i was browsing the terry prachett section of the fantasy aisle when this guy comes up beside me. he goes, "wow! every geek's dream - a girl in the fantasy section!"
so i'm like, "err....hahaha *nervous laugh*" and start blushing. then the guy continues going off about this book he was looking for and then informs me when he found it two minutes later and asks me if i've ever heard of it. "noo..."
feeling awkward, i left and found refuge in the bargain cooking section. when all of a sudden i hear a familiar voice behind me: "you like cooking too?!" yeah, it was that guy.
"yess..." i say. he then starts showing me pictures of steak, mentions his desire for summer and bbqs, and then gets all excited about 101 ways to cook pasta.
i run away again, since this guy clearly has something for me.
i go and find asumi, in the music section. i start talking to her, pause, look over, AND THAT GUY IS STANDING BESIDE ASUMI. WTF.
"you're following me!" he says. "noo...you're following me!" i laugh nervously. "oh, you wish i was." he states.
then i REALLY run away, find my mother, and inform her we're leaving. now. because creepy guy is stalking me just a liiiittle too much.

so that was my excitement for the day, ha...

in other news, revolutionary road was, albeit depressing, a pretty good movie. leo dicaprio's not too shabby, really...

SNOWSTORM.

well, it snowed buckets on friday night, while becky and i sat at work twiddling our thumbs because WHO THE FUCK GOES OUT TO BUY FISH & CHIPS IN A BLIZZARD?!

and now today its snowing too :)

it's also like -20 degrees - WHOO!

i had my last day of work yesterday. well, until the 31st haha. but thats a nice chunk of time off. i feel a little guilty, but...oh well.

i guess i've been recruited to help with front of house for A Christmas Carol today...there are two performances; one at 2 and one at 7:30. whoo.

ah well, its a lot of sitting around.

i miss being macaroni and cheese

i mean, of course i love my life now, but it's missing something.

i return home to canada tomorrow.
4 months earlier than scheduled.


it seems like i've been here for years.


i am scared to shit of going home.
almost as much as i'm excited.


i went to school today.
sehee and sensei remarked on how happy i looked.
...i am SO SO happy.

so i`ve been thinking about leaving a semester early from japan for quite some while now.
but i just can`t make up my mind.

pros of staying:
- things might get better
- have more experiences (ie. school festival)
- my new host families might be fun
- i`ll go more places, probably
- i`ll have more time to learn the language better
- i`ll get to go home with all the other exchangers
- won`t have to pay a fee to go home
- i`ll get the whole I DID IT experience

cons of staying:
- things might not get better
- i would have to do my hs courses by correspondence or summer school
- i wouldn`t have a lot of time with the jap. girl my mom is hosting
- things will probably stay unhappy and unfulfilled with me
- i will probably run out of money
- i will most likely still hate school and piee, which majorly affects my outloook on life
- changing host families again, possibly up to 3 more times

pros of leaving:
- start school in sept. in canada to make up hs courses
- more time to earn money for uni/future travel
- happiness
- more time with jap. girl mom is hosting
- can learn japanese from jap. girl
- visit friends at uni etc. and see how life is
- i made it half way!
- can leave japan on a good note
- possible to do some alone travel to places i couldn`t go before

cons of leaving:
- japanese level might not be as good as it could be
- won`t go home with other exchanger friends...no stories or reminiscing
- flight home alone, but possibly direct??
- 300$ fee or so to leave early
- loose 1/2 of the 9,000$ my mom paid for me to go here
- i am a failure for not making 10 months
